...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...East Slopes of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, Southern
Sangre De Cristo Mountains, Northeast Highlands and Plains of New
Mexico, and Guadalupe and Quay Counties in East Central New
Mexico. This includes the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon Burn Scar.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the Sangre de
Cristo Mountains early Thursday afternoon moving east and
southeast towards the Oklahoma and Texas borders going into
Thursday evening. Thunderstorms will be capable of producing
rainfall rates of up to 3 inches an hour. This will result in
a risk for flash flooding, especially across recent burn
scars like the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar and
areas that have received several rounds of showers and
thunderstorms the last few days.
